Domain name scams

If you own your own website, and have a brand associated with that name then it can be a messy business. With so many different countries having their own suffix, you find yourself in a position where suddenly it’s no longer just “.com”, but also “.net” “.co.uk” “.co.nz” and the list just goes on and on.

And before you go scoffing, this is a *really serious* problem. Can you imagine poor Paris Hilton and Linsday Lohan having the hassle of registering the website names like stupiddrunkskank.co.nz, stupiddrunkskank.com.au, stupiddrunkskank.co.uk, stupiddrunkskank.it

That’s a whole lot of mouse clicks and finger clicking.....let alone the sheer trauma of them having to find the on button for their computers.

It’s not really too surprising we are experiencing a campaign of spam from ....go on....guess.......haha, yeah it’s China. Again. But these emails, pretending to be acting in your favour, are nothing but lies and just a way for these companies to generate more business. They contact you on the pretence that a foreign company is trying to purchase websites using your domain and trademark names. However being the responsible and caring Domain Name Registration Service they are, they are first contacting you, the owner of the existing domains and trademarks, and will give you the amazing opportunity to get these website names first and therefore protect your brand. It’s a scam, it’s dodgy, it's unsolicited, and the outright lies from these companies should encourage you to never do business with them.
