Download only selected e-mails

Thursday 24th of September 2009 5:58pm

I use 2 different computers.
My laptop is used while traveling or working from home.
When I download mail to my laptop a copy is left on the server.
All mail is finally downloaded to my office desktop before deleted from the server.
Some times I need to download only one or two e-mails to respond or to get the attachmetns needed.
Is it possible to ad a coulumn to indicate which e-mails should be downloaded and then only download the selected e-mail?

We've been asked this many times over the years and it would be a great feature but unfortunately it's not a feature of POP3. Outlook Express etc can do it because they keep a log of which messages have been downloaded, but since MailWasher is only checking them and not downloading them then it won't work.
You could switch to IMAP (if your service provider offers it) which leaves all mail on the server anyway and lets you download the same email anywhere.

Actually Admin, that's quite possible to do - Pop Peeper does that very well by keeping a local log or db with "read" and "unread" messages and I'm sure it could easily be added to MWP, it would be very useful and popular.

It could be a bit more easy not downloading the message as such, but just by not limiting preview of message to 800 lines and adding then a tab with the "Save to" command to save the previewed message to an eml file.
