My bin currently contains rather too many items and I would like to be able to empty it of just a highlighted subset of these, rather than the full contents.
If you sorted by column and then selected a block of messages to delete it would give you a lot of flexibility in how you cleaned out messages. All that would be needed is a delete-selected button and the code behind it.
Without the ability to partially clear the MWP recycle bin, the recycle bin is difficult to use and risky to clear. I would normally clear a recycle bin (e.g., the Windows recycle bin) as suggested by Stan+qaz.
I think this would save labor and reduce the probability of error.
I just encountered a situation where I wished I could delete just "good" and "friend" messages from the recycle bin, leaving only actual spam, for classification. This would make it easier to group spam and count each category of filter. Others may wish to permanently delete just spam, leaving good deleted messages for possible further consideration or restoration.
