My Friends list has over 2000 entries. If I rebuild my PC, and reinstall Windows, along with MWP (with lifetime subscription), I have to start the learning process all over again. The Friends list has an Import facility, so why not an Export one? Also, why no Export AND Import for the Blacklist???

On v6 you can simply copy the files over so your friends, blacklist and training all come across. Accounts are in the registry so that is a bit more complex but it can still be done.

The new version has a lot of data that would have to be moved back and forth, many of the items you'd want to move are in a multi-megabyte database file along with a lot of other stuff.

Adding an export-import option would make a lot of sense and would be good for backups too.

This would also make it simpler to move MW from one machine to another.

It would be fantastic to backup all my Mailwasher settings so I when I reinstall it and then I can set it up again in minutes.
Thunderbird users use a fantastic backup program called Mozbackup which does this. how about something along this lines?. it is inevitable that I will have to do a clean install of Windows at one point or another.

At regular intervals I restore an image on a clean Windows system. All times I need to remember to first copy all data of MW to a save location and copy it back to the c:\bla bla\Mailwasher Pro folder, all except the .ini files. Maybe there is no other solution as MW insists on having its data stored on in the Windows folder, but at least add an option that it backups the data once every xx days.

I agree with all the comments above: it should have an export feature in order not to have to rebuild any list in MWP. I mean: friends, blacklist... Even learning history or customized view of main window. Guess you'll do! Regards!

Yes please. I've moved machines a number of times now and it would be so helpful to be able to backup my spam settings, email accounts so I could restore them on a new machine.

I would prefer it be exportable to a .CSV type of file so that I could manipulate it in a spreadsheet. This would allow me to compare current entries to previous so that, for example, I could have better information to help me decide if I am retaining the entries for too short a time in Mailwasher Pro, or if I am getting a bunch of entries from the same domain and may want to white- or blacklist an entire domain. (I'm geeky enough with my spreadsheet to split an email address at @ to compare just domains.) The point is, I want total control over my lists, and manipulating these lists outside Mailwasher and then re-importing is MUCH easier than trying to do it within Mailwasher. (I have such control over my entries in 0spam, for example, and I might go back to using that if I keep finding that Mailwasher has un-whitelisted some of my "friends" because I can't guess how often I will receive an email from some of them. If I had an external list, I could just reimport it every couple of months after exporting the current list and integrating the two outside of Mailwasher. On the other hand, maybe some "friends" should be "friends" forever.)
