As you may know, Microsoft are releasing Windows 7 on the 23rd October. MailWasher Pro is fully compatible with all versions of Windows 7.
This includes 32 and 64 bit versions. We've been running Windows 7 here for a while now and all agree it's a very nice upgrade. Users of Vista won't find the learning curve very difficult, but users upgrading from Windows XP will find there's a bit more to learn.
We're still working away on the MailWasher rewrite. It's taken us longer than expected, but it's a vast improvement over the current version in usability, performance and looks. We'll post another video very soon.
If you need to retrieve your registration code, go to http://old.firetrust.com/ft-user and you can download MailWasher Pro from http://www.firetrust.com/en/products/mailwasher-pro/download and enter your registration code to make it the full version.

Hi there,
I tried to manually import my preferences, lists and training folders to 7 from XP and MailWasher is not recognizing it. Is there a specific place I have to put these information or will have to wait for Mailwasher's new version to run corectly on 7?
Thanks in advance,
Mark
Hi Mark The current version
Hi Mark
The current version will run on Windows 7, and you can find where the preferences etc are lists etc are located by going to 'Help' menu and clicking the link at the bottom of that window to bring up the correct folder. Preferences are stored in the registry. If this is a bit difficult to follow, can you please contact support@firetrust.com and they'll help you with this properly.

unfortunately mailwasher do not recognise correctly my registration (it is telling me that my registration has expired, where indeed is nearly one year left), nor my e-mail client (windows live mail) in windows 7 (is telling me that i need to use google mail or yahoo mail...), any advice?
thanx!

I'm using Vista and more than happy with it, and cannot see any real benefits of upgrading to 7!
I will continue to use Mailwasher Pro of course.

I am using mailwasher pro with windows 7 and love both. The only issue is mailwasher pro does not automatically delete the messages after opening windows live mail. I had the same issue with vista. Since i like the live mail program, is there anything that can be done. Thank you.

Hi. I've been geting A220.2
Hi.
I've been geting A220.2 cryptic error messages today (saying I "have done nothing wrong"), and I'm using WMP 6.51 on WinXP (SP3).
It's the first time they've appeared.

We're looking at it...
We're looking at it...
I hope that the new version
I hope that the new version :
1) gives us a "trial period" to see if the user considers it an improvement.
2) lists the incoming mails in its list WITHOUT shifting the position of the list [except when a NEW mail arrives] - or an old one deleted. I'd want to have them listed in date/time order.
3) REALLY will bounce e'mails - I can't even bounce crap back to my own ISP !
4) Allows more than 800 lines of text to be displayed.... When I have 3.8MB of crap to dump back on my useless ISP who just allows "Dictionary Attacks" and stuff arrives without MY username on it - I really lambast these scumbags at Netvigator for allowing me to be flooded with crap - I send back the text + my graphics + the name of the person it is supposed to be sent to - and since that person doesn't exist - the ISP returns it all to me - all 3.8MB of it - and I dump it back on them - to drive home my point - but 800 lines does NOT equal 3.8 MB in my mailbox!
5) Has an "error panel" which can be read - and understood.
6) Will be "released to manufacture" real soon now!
7) Hopefully - once the Mailwasher program has been opened to see what's there, even if unread, the NEXT time one opens it up - after a re-start - the wretched "alert" does NOT flash again unless or UNTIL a NEW message is retrieved.
Hi Anthony We'll be releasing
Hi Anthony
We'll be releasing a 'public' beta at the end of this month to all existing users to trial. I think you'll like it :)
When I click on "Process
When I click on "Process Mail" I get a error dropdown
"No default email application was found.
I have my pop3 and incoming mail set right.
I just installed Windows 7.
Go to Settings
Go to Settings button>>General Options and click the 'specify' button next to the 'Launch email application after processing' and choose your email app there.
Thanks! This solution worked!
Thanks! This solution worked! This error had been annoying me for the couple of days since i upgraded to Windows 7.
Hmmmm ! I hope this extended
Hmmmm !
I hope this extended wait for the "new" version - long "promised" - will arrive soon..........
I know - all too well - how working on computers often takes MUCH longer than one originally estimates - I guess that the same goes for "Last Minute Bug-Fixes" of any program - only to find that some other sleeping "bug" will awaken to "byte your arse" when you don't expect it!
But it WOULD be "nice" if Chris & company of programmers & "Bug-hunters" kept us informed of the progress towards release for us "Bug-finders" to use.
i.e : Got any idea when the latest version will be released ??
we'll send out an update
we'll send out an update email next week and a video, then we'll release a 'public' beta to all existing users at the end of the month. Yes, it's taken longer than expected - complicated program!

This is the reply you gave regarding Mailwasher not deleting mail when/after opening Windows Live Mail, which is the problem I also have.
where can i find that in the windows live mail??? was not answered. I've looked but can't find it.
So how about it? where in Live Mail is the option to 'Leave messages on the server' in Windows Live Mail to fix this.'

Thanks Chris but this doesn't
Thanks Chris but this doesn't help.
My old Mailwasher checked my mail on the server, opened my email client (Outlook Express) and forwarded those mails I wanted marked ok, and deleted/bounced those I didn't want, then when my email client had opened, mailwasher would clear it's list of ok'd messages from it's window ready for the next check.
Presently, mailwasher fails to clear clear the messages marked as ok from it's messages window after it opens my email client (Live Mail) and they have to be deleted in a second operation when I go back to mailwasher by ticking the delete box and for a second time asking mailwasher to 'Process Mail' despite having been opened and dealt with in Windows Live Mail ( and despite following your advice)
I'd just like mailwasher to be a one touch operation as it used to be.
Uncle Buck
MailWasher just shows you the
MailWasher just shows you the emails left on the server. If Windows Live Mail is leaving the emails on the server after it downloads, then that is a setting in Windows Live Mail, not a behaviour MailWasher controls. Windows Live Mail I believe sets this on by default, whereas Outlook Express didn't which is likely why you see the difference.
Check out this link which has instructions/screen shots which might help. You want to stop Windows Live Mail from leaving copies on the server otherwise they will continue to always show in MailWasher http://support.tigertech.net/windows-live-mail-lmos

Problem sorted.
Chris, I owe you an apology.
After restarting my laptop, and after following your original instruction, I now find that mailwasher does remove the list of messages completely after it opens Live Mail. Problem Sorted. Many thanks.
Uncle Buck.
Excellent, glad it's sorted.
Excellent, glad it's sorted. And no need to apologise :)
I thought I'd try out this
I thought I'd try out this software. I am running Win7 64bit behind Outpost firewall. The latest version .53 I can't get it to work. It stalls and cannot log on to the mail servers. Shutting off the firewall monentarily didn ot change anything nor did the lan rule permissions for the 2.5 fix "add 127.98.9.*" help. Tried Mailwasher a different firewall Comodo 64 same thing. Tried it on an old xp pro 32bit machine works fine. This software doesn't work on Win7 64.
We use it regularly on Win7
We use it regularly on Win7 64, so it's not your OS. Double check your settings are in order, and that mailwasher.exe has access through Outpost. I'd recommend enabling Auto-Learn mode so that it will create the rules it needs to allow MailWasher access.
Should that still not work then contact support http://support.firetrust.com/
Hi I'm having huge trouble
Hi
I'm having huge trouble with Mailwasher and Windows 7 64 bit. Sometimes mailwahser will pick up mail quickly as per usual and other times when it opens it sits and I get a "not responding" message. I have to reboot whichmetimes fixes the problem if it doesn't then I have to wait for ages until it closes using "Task Manager" and don't use it.
Are you going to get a true 64 bit so it will work correctly?
Thanks
I don't think that 64bit is
I don't think that 64bit is the issue, we (and many other users) run MailWasher fine on 64bit machines, however you may want to check out http://www.firetrust.com/en/products/mailwasher2010
I am using Windows 7 and
I am using Windows 7 and Outlook 2010, and my email is also pre-scanned for spam by Orange (freeserve) and Google mail. What advantage does MailWasher have over this set up, apart from - obviously - it would allow me to sort through my own spam rather than letting Orange and Google mail do it for me?
Hi, I'm a long time
Hi,
I'm a long time Mailwasher user. I've recently upgraded to the most recent version and installed it on a Win7 machine and I have two questions:
1) I cannot stop MWPro from starting automatically every time windows starts. I checked, unchecked and re-unchecked the "start with windows" box , and no matter what I do, MWPro starts every time the computer starts - what do I do to fix this?
2) On the MWPro "upgrade" page, it says the upgrade is $10. I got charged about $22 - may I have a refund please?
Thank you,
John
Hi, I have been using
Hi,
I have been using Mailwasher for 8 or 9 years now, and have recently upgraded to the most recent version and installed it on a Win7 machine. I have always been happy with whichever version I've been using at the time, until yesterday, when I upgraded to Malwarebytes PRO fom the free version. Since the upgrade I have been unable to use MailWasher Pro 2010. When I log on to Mailwasher the window opens but is empty. When I click on the window again the title at the top of the window changes immediately to "MailWasherPro (Not Responding). Do Malwarebytes PRO and MailWasher Pro 2010 clash with each other? I'm not sure if the problem is with Malwarebytes PRO, so I have contacted them as well.
Kind regards
Dave
