Usually I wouldn’t waste my time with something so absurd, but in my casual browsing I noticed a Google AdWord for a site offering such a service, and that tells me that too many people are still falling for this. Google AdWords by their very nature shouldn’t be trusted, and despite providing a source of income for many website owners, I don’t believe many people are aware of how damaging they have become.

Dear Firetrust Support
I purchased MailWasher Pro some time ago and am very pleased with it.
Changes in the blog comment system
So it turns out people are actually reading posts in our blog, and even replying. Actually since posting about the chinese scam sites, the comments are coming thick and fast.
So we've changed the order of the comments you make from oldest to newest. We've also dropped the font size slightly, and increased the number of comments you'll see each page.
There may be some other small tweaks also made to improve your viewing pleasure.
Cheers
Chris
The bigger list of chinese scams
Earlier I posted about the person who was ripped off when buying cheap electronics from a chinese website. Within a few days others had also commented they had come across the same scam.
New Zealand Banks have not got a clue
It's time my Friday afternoon rant. But seriously, this is so appalling it really makes me wonder.
Here's some background first. The New Zealand Bankers' Association have recently updated their code of practice, it now includes several key points that relate to loss (and who is subsequently liable) in regards to someone having their account hacked, phished or account details stolen after being infected with a virus. e.g. key logging software.
The key additions to this code of practice is
Selling the free stuff
<update>
18th March 2008 - I've been neglecting this list, but after some people commented about Google Earth scams, I've now updated, adding around 360 websites

Confucius says "The cautious seldom err"
I really enjoy my Xbox 360, as I’m sure many others do too
It pains me though when I read about their 360 units breaking, especially the dreaded Three Rings of Death....which sounds like something out of a J.R.R Tolkien book
Three Rings to rule them all, Three Rings to find them,
Three Rings to bring them all and in the darkness wreck my damn Xbox 360 turning it into a bloody massive paperweight
Support system upgrade
Well this morning we all got up much earlier than usual and upgraded the backend to our support systems. It appears like everything is working as expected, but if you notice any problems then let us know through our new support system ;)
You can check it out at http://support.firetrust.com
The whole upgrade took about 4 hours, so with the early morning start we were finished by about 2pm.
SiteHound update issues - Part Deux
A couple of weeks ago I posted about the SiteHound updates failing and the issue being resolved.
Part of the problem was that the machine running the SiteHound updates couldn't keep up.
Part of the solution was to throw more machines at it, until they could keep up.
Sure, it's not flashy, but it worked.

Ki Ora from a sunny but cooling New Zealand
It's almost winter and before the ski season hits and all the staff here at Firetrust go play in the snow, we'd thought we would give a quick update on MailWasher Pro.
